We have been to Ping before and thought the food and place were decent. But our most recent trip to Ping turned out a complete disaster. We ordered dim sim starters, soup and Pad Thai. Firstly the food took forever to come. Then as our Pad Thai was being served we saw a long strand of black hair along with the noodles!!! The waiter apologized and took it away, promising a fresh preparation. This arrived shortly after... but as I dug into it, I found a half smoked bidi butt in it!!!!! Yes. A burnt bidi butt in my Pad Thai. For an upscale place like this, in the heart of Koramangla, this is just unacceptable. The manager didnt really know what to do so he called the Owner. Owner was apologetic, but making excuses mostly. And ofcourse, allowed us to leave without paying... not like it is any compensation for god knows what we already ate!!
At this rate, it is hard to tell if this is a classy fine-dining restaurant or a street side dhaba just done up on the outside. Wonder if there is no quality control whatsoever in this place?
Anyway... we are definitely done with this place. Sigh... search for good Pad Thai in Bangalore persists.... :-(
