Normally I shy away from the so-called "multi-cuisine" venues, so when one of my friends coerced me into going to this indian/mexican/"global" eatery, I wasn't there with the highest of expectations.
But I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised here. The food was of an exceptional quality. The non-vegetarians among us (myself included) shared a starter course of the non-veg tandoori platter, which was delicious! I had a baked fish, shrimp and egg dish based on a mushroom/cheese sauce for the main course, and I was blown away. The others (including the vegetarians) seemed to enjoy their food just as much as I did. If i had to say anything remotely close to "bad" about the food, it would be about the American Mud Pie, which wasn't really a mud pie. It tasted ok at best. The Gajar halwa and the rasamalai on the other hand were really good. So, all in all, its a good 4-4.5 stars for food.
The only flip-side to all this good food was that they seemed to take their own sweet time to get the dishes to our table (which is relatively not so much a problem for me since I loved what arrived eventually), but some of my friends were getting really impatient!
The ambiance is decent, nothing too great, but not too shabby either. Combined with the fact that they serve drinks on the table, ambiance ended up being something we wouldn't worry too much about by the end ;)
Overall, a very satisfactory experience at Peir 39. I recommend you try this once and see for yourself!
