We have been to this joint for snacks in the evening at 4pm today. Will spell out the specifics : ordered Paneer Udaigiri; Gulab Jamoon with Rabdi and Dahi Puri
Food: simply delicious. Paneer is luscious, soft n tender, gently charred with good coat of mint chutney; accompanied by swirls of zestly marinated onions, accentuated by two chutneys: mint with garlic and lightly peppery hot chutney...truly delicious.
Same as the case with the dahi Puri. They are crunchy outers with thick dahi dolloped with pomogrenate pearl. Yummy.
Jamoon is just heavenly, with the delicately light sugary syrup with kesar/cardmom and absolute soft core that is floating in that syrup. Best part is the flaky yet condensed rabdi that gives unique texture to the palette.
Wonderful core offering.
Service: absolutely unobtrusive yet attentive and timely service. Perhaps bit of attention to cleaning up the table could have swept us off the floor
Billing: absolutely what you see is what you got; correct, accurate; no hiccups
Bathrooms: spick n span; perfect. Keep it up
Ambience: there seems to be distinct disconnect between the name/brand, cutlery, overall ambience and background piped music. Guess they could have thought about it better and executed with same perfection to accentuate that authenticity and bit of ethnicity would have given the environment really wonderful ambience. it seemed to me bit out of place; not with the outlandish decor. Definitely decor, color coordinates, furniture, cutlery, menu cards, table clothes should have been well coordinated befitting the niche position that it aspire to be in. This is sore point, to the visual delight of the customer.
Price Point: seems to be reasonable for two persons given the quality of food and service; not becoz of ambience( am totally discounting on it).
What can be better: may be lunch buffet/dinner buffet and good spread of snacks such as bhajis/fryums/fritters of different variety that suits a particular time of the day.
What is most admirable: open, transparent, upfront proactive admission that the platters are not yet ready though mentioned onthe menu.
Kudos. Keep it up.
