Monkey Bar

Monkey Bar, the Indian avatar of the Gastropub, puts its own unique spin on the idea. The interiors invoke the feeling of being in a fun NYC space: exposed brick, soft wood floors, booths, mismatched lights and fixtures. The space is welcoming, intimate and very interesting. Long solid wood bar counters, edgy in-built bar stools with GI pipe foot rests, opaque glass, concrete tables, fun posters and wall hangings give the space a distinctly 'comfy' feel without ever seeming over-designed.

The bar is a happening little place at the Monkey Bar, and true to its service standards, the first thing that the servers are taught is the art of the genuine smile. The smiling bar churns out some super refreshing fruit cocktails, ultra chilled tap beer and unusual concoctions like the 'aam panna caipiroska', pear and mint slim jim and martinis served in rock glasses. Like all good bars, innovation and freshness are firmly at the forefront.

  • Great place but expensive Apr 06, 2013

This is truly an awesome place. It's got a great ambience, they play nice music(not extremely loud like all other bars/pubs in Bangalore), good service, finger-licking food, great beer and a nice place to hang out. The only drawback is that it's expensive. Having said that, it's better to pay a little more for quality!

A special mention would be their baked potato skins. It's simply awesome. I love the way the scoop the potato, make it into cups and stuff it. The stuffing's yum! Their hamburgers are pretty good too. They serve it with french fries. Their serving deserves a special mentio

  • Brings out the monkey in you ! Mar 12, 2013

Went on a Saturday evening, probably the best time to visit. We were 7 in number, and we walked in to see the place was only beginning to get packed. We wouldnt settle for any table other than the ones in the basement right next to the pool table, and we were early enough to get those. The rest was history. We spent 4 hours there, having the best food, and good drinks and a wonderful time with foosball and pool.

Their signature Maanga was fantabulous, served in a nutella jar, plus it gives that tingle to your taste buds every time you take a sip. Their butterfly chicken was finger licking

  • Expensive but delicious! Mar 06, 2013

You may not be able to hang out here every weekend but it's really worth a trip, now and then. The food and the drinks are simply delicious!

Their signature Manga drink is one of the best in Bangalore and it's perfect for a warm afternoon. The menu is very pub/diner like. Simple and delicious. All though it is a tad bit overpriced. Among the starters, try the devilled fish, it's tangy and yum. If you like beef, my bet is that you will love the Tiger Beef. It's heavy on chillies, super spicy and makes for a fantastic combination when you pair it with a chilled beer.

  • Too Expensive Dec 24, 2012

When they said its expensive, i didn't have an idea how expensive it could be. We were a group of 4 and no we did not drink like a fish but ended up spending four grand in an hour. Not complaining about the food though. Try the beef, with some Old Monk. Cocktails too are cool.
