Endless Appetite: by Ananta Sen and Poonam Vaidya
Aiming to devour Bangalore in five days
A pleasant open area and a comfortable, cozy interior - was what the two travelers saw in the Mocha Coffee Bar at Levelle Road.the open area consisted mainly of office –goers, looking for a place to sit comfortably, have a coffee or dessert, and use the free Wi-Fi. The interiors were very different, with all seating arrangements amounting to double couches in various shades, colourful curtains, that blocked out the sun, rendering the room almost like a bedroom. Mocha went a step further, including a curtained room at the back. ‘Utmost Privacy’ seemed to be the café’s dominant theme.
Appetite, who still had an appetite after her lunch at Only Place, scanned the menu with interest. Endless recommend she have a ‘Lava-lava’, she agreed. A plate containing two small cups, one containing a rich and rather thick and warm cake, and the other with a scoop of mocha ice cream. The combination, declared Appetite, was amazing, really chocolaty and very heavy.
Overall, Appetite loved the place, and thought the Lava-Lava cake was the best, or definitely one of the best desserts she had tried in Bangalore till date, and also liked the interiors, though at first, she admitted to feeling very uncomfortable at the beginning, to the extent of leaving immediately. However, after ignoring her discomfort, and turning a blind eye on the bloke sleeping on a couch in the corner, the couple making goo-goo eyes (and probably much more) on the far side of the room, Appitite could finally relax. The two spent over an hour in the coffee bar, and enjoyed every moment of it, listening to the latest music, which Endless claimed “Was very well selected.”, and nibbling the sticky, chocolatey dessert.
