Nice and Expensive Affair! 2011-06-26
My friend and I, after a conference in Taj, wanted to have a peaceful meal not go in for the buffet at the conference. The two hungry birds did not want to go anywhere else and my friend being a huge Chinese fan, decided to just walk a floor below and head to Memories of China.
The dining hall looked very pleasant with pastel colors. There were only 2 tables occupied when we reached and it remained the same till completed our meal. Weekday buffet 2011-03-12
We had gone for the weekday buffet which came to Rs 666 inclusive of taxes... their dim sums were awesome. In fact I basically had dim sum only. Their soup and main courses were nice but I enjoyed the steamed dim sums best. Desserts too were nice. Certainly worth it and a must visit for those who like Chinese fare. -

Cheap Decor, Unecessarily overpriced 2009-04-19
The décor was a put off not five star grade at all the service was lax and the menu limited ( although they are quite willing to make out of menu orders) the dishes were adequate in quality and quantity but an all round average deal. -

GUD things in LYF hardly come CHEAP 2008-12-10
I do agree that Memories of China is expensive when compared to some stand alone restaurants of the city. but, at the same time it is one of the best restaurants in terms of value for money when we talk about the oriental restaurants in star category hotels of the city. With 70% of the ingredients being imported, more than two hundred labels of wines, 22 years of existence ( still going strong ), a 5* ambience & very attentive service, i personally believe that restaurants like this can't be judged on its pricing rather they should be rated on value for money in terms of quality of food, service,... read more -

A return to a former favorite after 20 years 2008-12-10
My wife and I decided to visit Memories of China after 20 years, well for nostalgia I guess as It used to be one of our favorite restaurants. We were quite disappointed. The food was "fine" but very expensive for just a "fine" rating. They, along with the hotel, need to undergo renovation. I am glad we returned there for a meal but it's now out of our system and we can move on to the newer and better places.....like Mugen and Mainland China! -

Not cheap, but seriously good 2008-09-06
We weren't in the best of moods when we arrived here, having battled with the ever worsening traffic, but relaxed as soon as we entered the restaurant with it's lovely cool atmosphere and soothing music.
Service was very good, and I had the excellent quick fried lamb with ginger and spring onions, served with fried rice with butter and burnt garlic, which was one of the nicest Chinese dishes I have ever tasted. The jasmine tea completed the soothing effect of the music, and we were much happier people by the time we left.
