Pushing India hard to go the French way 2011-03-11
Clients and yet another dinner out. We decided on Masala Klub, as my guests were put up at the same hotel.
The menu is impressive, the decor is very tasteful and the service is attentive. What they completely miss is the essence of our food and the style of presenting and eating them. Maybe, since I am an Indian, it was difficult for me to accept a crazy presentation of our food. However the craft involved in presentation was articulate and photogenic. Ocassion was wife's birthday and we chose Masala Klub for lunch.
Had heard good reviews, but gotta admit it surpassed my expectation
Right from the complimentary cup of hot rasam to the finishing touch: 'mint-leaves coated in brown and white chocolate', the experience of dining was distinctive and appealing to senses.
The main course of Lucknavi Subz Biryani was just too good.
The dessert Baked Anjeer Halwa was amazing, but be warned that it would take two people( or maybe 3) to finish one serving of that dessert!

Could be better ... a lot better !! 2010-03-17
Had gone there with my family for Dinner. Had booked the table in advance and we were promptly escorted to the table.
We had ordered Mojito for cocktail and my wife choose their strawberry based mock tail. They were good, no doubt.
We then started ordering the Kebabs which I must say were good. The disappointment started when we started ordering the main course along with rotis.
We had ordered Gosht ki nalli and we specifically asked them to make it a bit spicy. The main course arrived bland and the rotis were the size of mini papads. Come on guys !! I know I pay a lot when I choose... read more -

Extremely disappointing 2010-03-16
We chose Masala Klub at the last moment, to celebrate, with family and colleagues - what was certainly among the most memorable moments in our life
Unfortunately, it turned out to be a very wrong decision. If I were to sum up the experience at Masala Klub in one word, it would be - "pompous"
The claims of the restaurant about food is pompous. The service is definitely pompous. Slow and self-serving even. The costs are exorbitant with us spending more than 1000 bucks per person and still coming back totally dissatisfied -
