Wonderful Place! 2012-03-30
I had been looking at this place ever since it opened on Church Street and had been waiting for an opportunity to try it out. That opportunity presented itself two weekends ago and a friend and I went here for dinner. We were met in the main foyer of the building by the host who asked us if we wanted to go to Ruby Tuesday or Mandarin Express as both restaurants are located here. After expressing our wish to dine at Mandarin Express, the host politely ushered us to the restaurant's door. Inside we were greeted by a smiling waiter who asked us where we would like to sit. IT is definitely an average place. Quite worth the money though. I liked only the starters , i.e - Chicken dimsums & Checken skeweres( chicken satay with BBQ sauce, pan fried), Didnt enjoy the sweet & sour pork, the posrk was too chew , not cooked properly & the non veg rice bowl, the vegetables were half cooked.. -

The food is great. I liked the starters here. I tasted a few non-vegetarian starters and they were delicious. The main course was good. Overall, the food was at par with my expectations.
The ambiance is fine. I was not completely satisfied with the service, since they were a bit slow. Might be because of the weekend as well.
It is not that expensive, if you compare it with other chinese restaurants on church street. I would still keep it above average on my list! -
