  • No value for money 2012-01-04

    After hearing good review from friends we went for dinner but repenting for the same. Food is expensive with no good taste for it. Ambience is ok.

  • Very Bad experience 2011-12-10

    While most of the people have written something good and based on it I went for a dinner, my experience was awful. Apart from ambiance there is nothing good to talk about. The time taken to serve each course was 30-35 mins !! I ordered Chicken Soup with Egg Drop, which their menu suggests to be hot and spicy(confirmed with the waiter too) . It turned out to be bland chicken broth with egg white. Then for starters ordered Hariyali Paneer and Chicken Kabab - no complaints about the food. It wasn't delicious but wasn't bad either. The time taken to serve it was around 30 mins. Later main course came... read more

    I have been to the Lumiere Organic restaurant multiple times. I've had a good experience there all the times. The buffet is a good Value for Money meal and there are enough decent options for vegetarians too unlike buffets at many other restaurants. Their welcome drink and the mouth freshner drinks are unique. Food here tastes fresh and you have none of the mindless spice you get to eat in the name of taste- and the food is really tasty here, sits light on the stomach. A la carte options are many and I would urge you to try their juices - refreshingly nice vegetable juices. And the icing on the... read more

  • Decent food, slightly expensive 2010-07-26

    Went with a couple of colleagues on a Monday afternoon. Opted to order individual dishes instead of the buffet. Ended up ordering the following items:
    * Fish Tikka
    * Egg Pakoda
    * Grilled Chicken platter
    * Grilled Vegetable platter

    The fish tikka and the Egg pakoda were excellent. The platter was decent not great. The platter actually turned out to be a sizzler dish. The chicken was really tasty but the rest of the dish i.e. the vegetables and the rice were quite bland and didn't go well with the chicken. My vegetarian colleague on the other hand enjoyed his vegetable sizzle

    It is worth appreciating that you took time to write so much of details about this place, but i would deny with few things:
    I visited there thrice and also chatted with the MD, the kind of efforts he is doing to make it an experience for people is worth commending, still there would be complains but when i talked to them, i came to know they take recommendations seriously and if someone is trying to do something good for the society & humanity for that matter, we need to support their efforts.

    My Recommendations: if you are not happy with the food, suggest them and try the place one

    I Visited the Restaurant today with my office team for lunch buffet.
    There is ample parking space on street or road.

    There is a long side passage that takes you to the restaurant. It's kind of creepy. But once you are in, you will like the ambiance. We opted for the buffet.

    Veg buffet 290
    Non Veg Buffet 375.

    Started off with a mint drink. 4/10
    Than a soup (prawn clear soup) 2/10
    Three types of rice. I tasted oriental rice 4/10
    In veg there was paneer. Very spicy for my taste 4/10
    Veg starters - 3/10
    veg and non veg cutlet. Average. 5/10

  • Good Concept - Badly Executed 2010-06-23

    We had heard a lot about Lumiere so we went expecting the whole experience to be organic and healthy. Unfortunately the restaurant just uses organic ingredients but cooks them in ordinary banquet-type masala and oil rich gravies like Paneer Makhani, Gobi Mattar Masala and Kadai Chicken - which is such a waste of good, organic ingredients. We sincerely wish they research and find new recipes within our own indian cuisine which bring out the goodness of the organic ingredients.

    As the name suggests they serve everything organically grown…. I just loved the place.. the food is delicious absolutely yummy I think the basic vegetables were so yummy that whatever u do with them it would have been tasty…

    the decor is very simply done in cane but looks very elegant…we were greeted with a complimentary juice…

    The menu is wide with north indian and items from all south indian states with a little bit of Chinese thrown in… there is a wee bit focus more on non vegetarian but there are enough options for vegetarians too.. we stuck to veg that day

    What does Organic mean? i thought in my mind and started Google it. then i saw the definition of "Organic", I came to know we Indians have the privilege of good soil and thus we are the Agricultural land. Some farmers practice the right way of farming and is called, Organic- All Natural. Then i read about Lumiere, the brand which make sure everything they use in their Kitchen are Organic. I visited their Restaurant and everything tastes good. I wish the management all the best wishes for their Efforts.

  • worth visiting again 2010-02-22

    We visited Lumiere last weekend, both me and my companion were not all that hungry...but we wanted to try Lumiere.
    Ambience: Very soothing, they do not use AC to make the place environment friendly. Tables are spaced right, giving enough privacy to each table.
    Service: Very nice, when we ordered our main course, waiter asked for any special requirements from our side - less oil\butter etc and our spice level - this truely impressed us, as it shows that they do not keep their gravies ready ( like those typical red or brown curries)
    Food:
    1) Green soup - spinach and crushed
