rotten seer fish 2012-05-23
Just went to kubay for dinner and what a way to spoil the night.
Ordered a mangalore fish curry . It looked yellow but smelt badly.
I am from kochin and have a long history with fishes.
This dead body should easily be 10 days old.
I went here after reading the good reviews.
Dunno how these guys are in business still.
I believe the power of the consumer and i believe this review will have some positive effect on readers.

Great Mangalore food 2012-03-19
Real good Mangalore cuisine, loved the taste. Try the caramel custard its mmmmhhhh.. -

No-frills... decent... good food 2012-03-11
Been here twice now... On my first visit, had pompfret fry which was small in size but tasted good... also had prawns curry which was decent. Had it with neer dosa which is a favorite. Washed it down with sol kadi which is awesome (they serve it chilled tho which i dint like). Ended with the caramel custard which tasted great.
On my 2nd visit, we were 4 of us and we had the crab masala, prawns gassi, clamps suke and fish curry. Dint like the crab masala as much coz it had a lot of black pepper... crab size was decent.... not big but not small either. Fish curry wasnt that great... seemed a... read more -

Went there for lunch,liked it a lot.Had sannas and neer dose with Mangalore fish curry.Tried the prawns pepper fry.Sol kadi-yummmmm
Quiet place,ambience not much to talk about.Would definitely recommend. -

Decent affair 2011-12-29
A friend of mine introduced me to this place almost a year and half ago.
Tried Seer fish and Assorted platter. Liked what I ordered.
Decor and service was OK. Food was good. Price was a bit above expectation.
Plan to visit again and would report on my experience ;) -

While your comment on the pricing is well taken,just wanted to let you know that due to the cyclonic atmosphere over the coastal belt, seafood supplies are in short supply due to which prices are very high. We hope this trend will change in the next few days and prices would stabilise.

Seefood seafood!! 2011-10-21
Have been here what seems to be ages ago, probably because I was associated with it for a while. The seafood was always cooked delicately & to near perfection. Whether I had the pork or the fish, it always made me wish for a bigger stomach!! Maybe out of b'lore but u guys r certainly not out of mind!!! Hope to be back sooner.All the best. -

Visited Kubay for a family get together on a Sunday afternoon. Since all of us were Mangalorean seafood lovers, the expectation was fairly high and Kubay lived up to it. We started with Solkadee instead of soup and this kickstarted our gastronomic journey. For starters we had Kane Rava Fry (Lady Fish) and Prawns Masala Fry. The lady fish was fresh and tasted heavenly. But could have done with an accompaniment of mint chutney, which was missing. Can't wait forever 2011-08-09
Me and a friend decided to have lunch at Kubay 's about a week back. It was the usual lunch rush hour but we manged to get seats and went about ordering, the time was about 1.30pm .The captain came to take our order and we ordered two plates of Kane fish ( one masala fry and the other was a rawa fry ). And we decided to split a Bangda curry for the main course with boiled rice.We asked the captain to ensure that everything was served together ,the captain did'nt bat an eyelid , said ok and was gone....then the wait started . thanks for your feedback. I am really sorry that you have not enjoyed the seer fish . The fish looked yellow probably because the turmeric that we put as soon as the fish is brought to prevent contamination may have been to much. And just to let you know that I am also from Kerala and have been in the Industry for 28 years to understand the intricacies involved with seafood. Our seafood is never more than a day old and I can guarantee that, if you have time, please do come again and visit the place and I shall show you thru.
