I read the review of this place in the Food Lovers Food Guide circa 2008 average spend beer 120 rupees average spend for two 1500 rupees.
Last night 4th Mar 2009 I visited this place with two colleagues for the First and Last time only.
The place is almost in total darkness at 6.30pm in the evening and the candescence of the table lit candles do not give much light to the dreadful ambience of the place.
Service is slow and at times non -existent.
Now I do confess to not checking the drinks list for prices, the write up in the food guide had led me to believe they were around 120 rupees for a beer.
Both my colleagues and I do appreciate a plentiful supply of liquid intake and we managed to consume 5 small bottles of the local Kingfisher beer each during our sampling of the food from the kitchen.
The food was not brilliant and as we could not see what we were eating from the one candle power we could not tell that what we were eating was what we actually ordered.
Nevertheless we stayed the course until we had finished the meal and drinks and then ordered the bill.
This took quite a while before it was proffered to us and we were astounded at the cost of the meal and drinks fror 3 people that came to 3750 rupees =1250 each ( food guide suggested average spend for two was only 1500 rupees)
The Small bottles of Kingfisher were an exorbitant 180 rupees each for a bottle that off the supermarket shelf would cost no more than 30 Rupees we consider this to be extortionate. ( I do regret not seeing the drinks list first - drinker beware)
The drinks in the Windsor hotel which would be draft beer would be about the same price as Kosmo but you would enjoy a very different high class ambience to go with it, something the Kosmo does not have.
All in all we were charged HIGH CLASS PRICES for a LOW CLASS JOINT
Steer clear of this place
We give it a 1 Star only because there is no selection Lower
