Having heard and read that Karavalli is one of the best Indian restaurants in Bangalore and potentially the country, I knew I had to give it a try. I was even more thrilled to learn that I would be sampling Mangalorean delicacies. I'm a huge seafood fan and coastal cuisine is probably me and my husband's favorite. There is something about the fresh coconut used to prepare the curries that is so satisfying. It's not like the thick creamy coconut curries I have become accustomed to. We ordered the Mutton curry, Nagli ambat (fish stew), Masala Fish Fry (dry and wet). Surprisingly, the Mutton Curry was my favorite. Usually I'm so stuffed that I can't order dessert but we were able to sample three small servings of banana caramel ice cream, and 2 traditional Mangalorean desserts, I wish I could remember the names. The flavors combined all together were perfect. Just incredible service in a relaxed setting- Karavalli is not your average hotel restaurant. Worth a visit!
