Once you enter this place, it feels like you have moved back in time. The place is quaint and simple. Nice place to have coffee, instead of the regular CCDs. They also serve snacks (nothing fancy). The thing that i liked here is the atmosphere, it has a nice charm to it, there is no hustle bustle, the place is not jazzed up are so many others and they serve pretty good coffee! This is the place to have coffee when you are near MG.

This place is one of those 'Bangalore heritage sites', not an eating destination per se ! As a further indication that times have moved on from the zeitgeist of this unglamorous place, India Coffee House has been displaced from its original MG Road location to a place on Church Street where further down the street towards Brigade road, you'll find trendy cafes like 'Matteo' whose facade could occupy any of the world's cosmopolitan loci. I was heart broken when i heard that the MG Road coffee house will be shutdown. But this one reappeared like a phoenix in Church Street. Love their coffee,Dosa, scrambled egg on toast and the not so perfect Staff who is known to be rude and discourteous.Though most of the advertisement boards (which adorned the walls of the M.G..Road one) have gone missing this place still smells of 60s and 70s. This is the poor man's Koshy's.Will keep visiting this place

Though I liked the earlier location on MG Road, but I don't mind visiting this even their current location.

The moment you walk into the restaurant you know that you are walking into an institution and becoming a part of history. The staff dressed in white dresses with big white caps (esp. in the earlier location), serving in old fashioned bone china dishes and big tables like the ones you find in your canteen :) . This was the place serving coffee to youngsters and intellectuals before the coffee days and barista's. My friends from calcutta tell me that it reminds them of a few places
