Stuck right @ the back of Gem Plaza on Infantry Road is Hypnos. The first time I had been to this place was by accident. There was a sale @ the Callaway Golf equipment place and I had been there to pick some clubs ( a Wedge : i believe they have the Jaws series) for him and post that we decided to get something to drink. If you think buying a Golf club can spark a celebration: you are terribly wrong. Besides having a double digit handicap, his other dexterities include "change in scenery" with a 'not-so-subtle' approach to it. For Hookah and Biryani 2010-09-10
My friend was leaving to US and as always there was some pending treat from my end. We both, on an impulsive decision, on a weekday after office hours headed straight to Samarkand. As expected, the restaurant was full and we had neither made advanced bookings. Thanks to the impulse decision we made.
However, the receptionist directed us to Hypnos. She mentioned, they serve the same food as they do at Samarkand. Had been here for a friends bday, its a nice place and nicely done, u can go out with a gang of friends or u could take ur date here ( If he/she likes loud music),
ambience : 4/5
food : 3.5/5
drinks : 3/5
Value for money : 2/5 ( on the more expensive end)
they have happy hours wherein u get a drink free if u order for one, but when ur drinking coctails its somehow difficult to gulp the same drink again.
For 6 of us with 4 coctails and a pitcher, to eat one veg platter and a non veg starter it cost us a whooping 3700/ , heavy on the pocket ehhh!!

not great for mediterranean food 2009-04-20
If you haven't had decent mediterranean food, maybe you'll think that's how it is supposed to taste when you try it at Hypnos. But believe me, they can't even get the Hummus right or the Baba Ghanouj. Even the Bruschetta was some Indian version of cheese toast kind of thing. No good ingredients are used here and the chef says he learnt how to make these things at Garuda Mall!! If you want to serve food-court standard of food, go open a shop in the mall, don't claim to be a fancy mediterranean restaurant. One of the best 2009-02-25
One of my favourite places in the city. Done up in a lovely shade of turquoise blue, is pleasant and soothing. Courteous staff, right from the valet to the waiters. The best part is the Food -the hummus is as it should be and so are the Pita breads and the other spread. For anyone who doesnot experiment, they also serve the Samarkand food here as its run by the same management and is right next door. Smoke a hookah, have a couple of drinks, listen to the music and simply relax. You can spend hours here before u'd wanto leave. -

Sunday afternoons are the best 2008-04-08
Probably just another couple (or two) around. Have a Long Island (decent ones), smoke a hookah, take it easy.
At regular times, it morphs into yet another crowded place with loud music. -
