Hyderabad Durbar opened 4 months ago, a small place on the main road which is indeed creating some waves about their authentic Hyderabadi Biryani.
It was at this place, last evening when my husband and I relished the biryani and completely loved it!
Soon after you enter Hyderabad Durbar, you’d find a waiting area which is also full! Also including people who walk in to collect huge parcels of the yum dum biryani. Luckily we got some place to sit and the hosts, for whom each minute counts, would bring in the menu without wasting on any valuable seconds. You are requested to quickly place the order before getting your table. It was good for us because we were hungry ones, waiting to eat and fast! The menu has a lot of choices with the non vegetarian food. It provides Multi-cuisine with more of Andra varieties.
They have non-veg platter has quite a number of additions when compared with the platter offered at other places. Soon after we placed the order, we were lead to the higher floor as the ground floor was full. The stairway is just broad enough to help one person, one lean person. On the top you could find just 3 tables with 3 chairs on either side, they also have 3 fans. Each table accommodates 6 people again 6 lean ones! Soon after we got our table and waited for the food, I thought, nothing really like a Durbar! But just enough comfort and neat
Kabab with tangy lemon was perfect. Kababs are usually my favorite and this one was heavenly. Each bite was so irresistible, would love to hog one right now.
Then came the butter rotis with chicken hyderabadi, which was spicy and tasty. Last and the best was the Biryani. This was such a pleasure to taste, was a perfect mix of meat, spices and the best rice. I learnt from the person who served us that the rice they use to make this delicious dish was some special kind of rice which is long and costs Rs. 130 – to 150 per KG! He also went ahead to tell me that they have a huge place beside their restaurant to make biryani using fire wood and coal. This he believes enhances the taste of the cooked. With no clue how many Kilos get exhausted on one day, there are 5-6 people appointed to make this continuously. They supply this Biryani to Kentucky and Paramount. Though not very polished the people are responsive and nice. I recommend this place for an inexpensive, quick, irresistible munch!
