  • Excellent Moghlai 2010-08-25

This place has been here for ages (although, I admit I have not, hee hee)
However, this was on my 'must-visit places' list, so I went. The Chicken Biryani is to die for! Sinful is not the word. The chicken pieces are succulent, the portions generous and the rice yummy.

Other things that are notable here are the shwarmas, bheja kalimiri masala with roti (its d-i-v-i-n-e) :)

Seating is ample and pretty crowded during lunch-time, dinner-time and the whole day on weekends.

Parking is a problem here cause its a popular eatery in a crowded inter-junction on a busy shopping

  • Nothing special 2010-07-29

I have been to empire several times, and i find the food losing out on quality and the prices are not worth the quality and taste they offer.

Been there once, will never go again
Come sunshine or come heavy rain!!!
I have never even heard of a spicy malai kofta or chicken masala in white gravy!!! Horrible is the word... A disaster of both preparations!!!! May be they put kofta and chicken pieces separately, but in the wrong gravies!!!

  • Way better than Little Empire 2010-05-20

I have sumptuously eaten here, all the nicest chicken, ghee rice.. Dont go for meals costing Rs.120 or so. if u want the best piece of chicken, order it separately.

  • Place to be in for a Buffet @ Rs.99 (79 for veg) 2008-11-16

This is the second time I'm visiting this place. Though it is more famous for its Arabian cuisine, due to non-availability of a table I had to go for the buffet which is on the fourth floor. The reason for choosing being the price of course.

The buffet is in the rooftop with ample lighting. Remember that you need to take the coupon before starting off. The menu on the non-veg front is Chicken kebab, chicken fry, chicken stew, Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken and Fish Curry. For the veggies, it is Panneer Chilly, Dry Vegetable, Dal, Rasam, Vegetable Korma, Veg Biriyani, Veg fried rice,

  • Variety of Dosas - Yummy! 2008-08-22

It was my first visit - tht too take away - but i promise to be there many more times for sure. I tried Keema Dosa - awesome is the word! And then chicken doas - they r also too good to resist, despite the fact tht they were too hot and spicy and I just cant enjoy something which is HOT!!! But even then I ate till the last bite which just explains how yummy they were.

But I have one complain though - the chicken pieces are just too bony - infact it is only bones - there is hardly any flesh - wish they correct this soon, but all in all, too delicious and filling.

  • Worth a few visits 2008-07-04

The Tomato Fry here is excellent. So is the Mutton Kurma ... But, the piece de resistance is the Grill Chicken, with the Chilli powder ... this is just wonderful, and if you are into fire-eating, please go ample on the chillies.

All in all, i settle for the Kurma, Coin Parottas, and Grilled Chicken when i go there. If the weather is not to your liking, theres the air-conditioned option on the first floor. And, that its open till quite late is another plus!

  • Crowd say it.. 2007-11-14

We see lots of crowd at Empire. We went to Church street for the first time and we made it a habit to visit there often. Nothing much to say..we liked the grilled chicken a lot. I had been to paramount and imperial but I would prefer Empire..so do my friends.
    Fish items are not good.
    No drinks available.
Food to taste: Grilled chicken,Tandoori,Ghee rice, some dosa chicken packages..etc.

  • Not Bad...Give It A Try 2007-02-01

Given the furore that the Imperial vs. Empire debate has caused and given that the kebab question has now been answered (49% prefer Imperial chicken kebabs to the Empire ones. I can't disgaree!) I was finally able to visit Empire. This review is of the Central Street branch. My quick take: Empire has enough, kebabs apart, to want to dine there.

For six of us, we ordered a lot. And I mean a lot. One grilled leg of mutton (raan), one grilled chicken, one and a half kebabs, one ginger chicken, two brain fry, 12 coin parotas, 2 kerala parotas, 2 ghee rice and sulemani to round it all of.
