  • Amazing! 2012-01-28

We were a little apprehensive walking in. The ambiance was different. We opted for one of the Set menus and a la carte. Was a lovely experience. We are very experimental. Tried everything they suggested. My husband who is usually very macho about not eating raw food loved it. Loved the fresh wasabi, The fresh salmon. We went all out. We had a long dinner, bill was around 14k. With wines et al. We were celebrating so we did not mind. The Master Chef came out to visit. A blast.

  • Good food - best place for sushi in Bangalore 2011-04-16

Having been to all the Japanese restaurants in Bangalore (which have left me dissapointed), I finally went to Edo last night with a friend. Their sushi was really delicious, I had three different Uramaki's, one with tuna, one with soft shell crab and a third with a combination of a few different fish. I loved them all, they were really well made and delicious! We also ordered tuna hosomaki which was also very good (although I personally prefer sushi with rice on the outside). We also ordered a chicken katsu which was good as well - came with a teriyaki glazed sauce and some pepper spices. Finally... read more

  • Pretty Impressed! 2011-01-08

Yes, it is a tad on the expensive side and the portions are small, as they should be since almost all ingredients are flown in from Japan, but it is the best Japanese in Bangalore and one of the best restaurants in town. Click here for more photos:

  • Indians don't have Bento box appetite! 2010-12-06

The place is good. The service is very good, but when it comes to quantity and pricing it doesn't correspond at all.
Went with a friend of mine. Excited and yeah this was not the first time at a japanese restaurant. We wanted to try everything and we thought of ordering a Bento box for a whooping Rs.1900(per box), I would swear never to go back to this place that fleeces and when the hostess gingerly walks to us and enquires about why our comments were not to their satisfactory levels. I pay Rs.1900 for a bento box meal and I feel that I just had appetizers. The hostess was trying to justify

  • Great food, Ok Ambience 2010-12-06

I like Japanese and we chose this place for my bday. My wife had called ahead and told that we were celebrating and was told a cake would be waiting. More on that later....

First, the address on this website is incorrect. The entry to Royal Gardenia is on Vittal Malya Rd and not on Residency Rd.

Edo is their Japanese restaurant. You are greeted at the door in Japanese. We were escorted to our table and were settled in nicely.
Now you have some expectations when you visit a restaurant at a high end hotel. Least is that this be a well done place. This is where Edo disappoints.

  • The best Japanese restaurant in town. 2010-11-09

Edo is certainly the best Japanese restaurant in Bangalore, if not India and while you can spend a small fortune and order the Chef's menu at Rs. 5000 you can also eat very well by sticking to their main course either a udon noodle soup or an absolutely outstanding chanko-nabe, a hearty dish cooked and eaten by sumo wrestlers. It's a meal in itself and would cost you Rs 800.
The black and white sesame ice cream was sensational as well, but the best sashimi I have ever eaten is here. Choose a spot at the sushi bar if you are alone or a couple and chat with the very friendly sushi chef behind
