The biryani was not as good as it costed. The buffet is pretty ok for dinner at that hour. Service is average.

  • Okie dokie. 2011-11-07

Been there Friday night with friends for the midnight buffet. As it was just 11 pm still, the buffet wasn't open as yet. We ordered Al carte but some of the items mentioned in the menu are totally different when served. Example, Paprika Potato Fritters : Didn't know they were just normal french fries. When asked where the paprika was the waiter brought us some in a cup.

The Service is poor. There was just one Captain, who could converse well with the customers, the rest were just running around. It took us 20 mins just to be served water after asking 4-5 times.

    The buffet

  • Life saver at odd times of the night 2011-09-29

There's nothing great I can write about the food. Just that its edible. And definitely a life saver in a place like bangalore if you're hungry at midnight and got nothing to eat at home. Yea the after midnight fee of 250 per head is a pinch, but at least a safe, decent place to sit and dine. We went for the buffet. Nothing fancy. I just settled for the salads, some curries to eat with rotis. Was content, and did not try the mutton biryani coz I did not want to be stuffed. The dessert section was not appealing though. The bread and butter pudding was ok but the ice cream was pathetic! They had straw... read more

  • Shifted restaurant to a dinghy room 2011-09-28

I don't understand the logic behind moving the restaurant staff and food to a small room instead of the nice airy space it is supposed to be in.
Apparently, they were having a convention of some sort today and moved the restaurant to this aforementioned room.
This tantamounts to cheating a paying customer out of the restaurant experience. Very disappointed.

  • Disappointed. 2010-12-29

Went to Cilantro because I'd heard a lot about it. Desserts are a strict no no in this place. Mediocre taste and quality.

  • Maybe there is a new manager? 2010-05-26

We stayed at the Halcyon (the hotel to which Cilantro is attached) and have had good service for the breakfast buffet. There is a manager named Jai that is super nice and attentive. After reading the bad ratings above, I'm thinking maybe he is new. They always have made to order items, omelets, dosas, etc. that are nice and fresh and plenty of nice fruit.

  • Outrageously rude service! 2010-04-10

The previous review reminded me of a not so pleasant experience (actually, it felt funny paying money and being treated like trash) at Cilantro on 28th feb. I remember the date coz we had a house party on 27th that went on till about 3 am and then some 7 of us trooped out for a much needed dose of soberness (coffee) at this ungodly hour. I had seen adverts of Cilantro all around as a 24/7 cafe but had never been there. We thought of this place and since it was close by we thought, why not?
Surprisingly quite a few tables were full even at this hour and while mostly I could see the younger crowd

    Dear Debasmita,
many thanks for your honest feed back. At the out set let me apologise on behalf of Cilantro. Our service staff should have politely & more tactfully told you about the service charge we levy on fridays & saturdays. But that does not mean you should not come back to us. We try our best to accommodate every one as far as possible. Next time please call our Manager Mr. Vipin 9880550884, he will look after you and your guests. I suggest you try the Red Wine Chicken its our signature dish.
look forward to having you with us at Cilantro.

  • Bad Management 2010-02-10

We were a group of 8 - 4 couples, we ahd our dinner but then felt the urge for good coffee and headed towards Cilantro. The person in charge of 24\7 cafe told us that all they offer is buffet and no ala-carte. When somebody in our group told him that he came just 1-2 month before for coffee and snacks, he thought...looked around and then said - yes but then we have to assure him that each person bill will be min Rs 200...and this was really insulting! how can you talk about your bill amount even before people have settled in...and how can this be a policy that min spend per person needs to be Rs... read more

    Business Owner
    Dear TwinGemini2,

many thanks for your feed back. I do apologise for the manner in which our manager went about informing you about the minimum spend(Cover charge) policy of Cilantro on weekends ( Fridays & Saturdays only). Yes they should have been a little more tactful in handling it. The concerned, person has been briefed based on your comment.

We hope you understand that our restaurant is not a very large one so on week ends we are kind of urged by circumstances to introduce a cover charge. Once again do accept our apologies for the experience you had at Cilantro. We look...read more
