Cha Bar might be perceived by most to be an expensive place as it is located in Leela Palace, but let me assure you it is cheaper than a barista or mocha even.
The quantities of small medium and large would suit most guests requirements, and they have a huge range of teas and a small coffe menu as well.
The taste is perfect, but what really sets this place apart is the ambience.
The attached bookstore alllows one to surf through a coffee table book while sipping on their fav cuppa chai, and a lot of patrons often end up buying a book or two. A great place to just relax and hav good

  • Good tea 2011-02-26

Am sure not many dare to reach here because many would think this place will surely burn a hole in their pocket because of the location. But in case you read this, let me assure you that this is a great place to be and worth every penny.
The chai is good and so is the spread of food. You can try any chai here and feel good about your choice. My favorite is the all traditional masala chai.
Great ambience and a quiet place. The book shop helpls you to read your favorite book with a cuppa of tea. And if you are lucky you can hear to some good piano play

  • Books and Tea! A wondrous combination! 2009-07-18

One of the best bookstores in Bangalore also houses one of the best tea bars in Bangalore. Book for the bookworm and tea for the tea connoisseur, can I ask for more?

seamlessly attached to the Oxford book store.
    decent short-eats.
    good hangout.

Not 1-2-cha-cha-cha but about 45-50 cha cha cha :)
And all great stuff. Do try chas minus the milk, like the previous reviewer pointed out.

  • Tea Drinking- An elaborate affair! 2007-06-17

I am a coffee addict and I wonder why I visit this place so often! The menu has ten pages of different teas that you can choose from, one page for coffee and a section called "Other drinks"- talk about relegation! :)

Funnily, I never pick up coffee here. I love drinking the grape soda in Cha Bar.

Some things that I love about this place- It is an elaborate affair once you order tea- you get milk in a cow shaped vessel, you get a miniature strainer and a small bowl to keep the strainer!!! It is left upto you as to how you want your tea. Talk about paying a premium and having

  • Tea anyone? 2007-05-28

wonderful location - at the leela galleria. nice seating arrangement and most times you will not have to wait for the table.

what can you write about a place that has around 50 types of teas on its menu? do try the great darjeeling teas they have on their menu but pls pls pls do not ask for milk when you order the exquisite darjeeling teas. a bit of sugar is ok but not milk. some interesting teas from the far east are worth a try.

you do get some good salads and sandwiches although i would steer clear of the potato and chili pakoras.

    would you like some tea?

  • Cute little bookstore cafe 2007-02-01

Second level at the Leela Galleria you will find the Oxford Bookstore - quite a good place to pick up your latest book club titles. Adjacent to that you will find a cute and somewhat pretentious cafe called Cha Bar - they offer a very wide array of teas (quite expensive!) and some light snacks, such as salads and sandwiches. Good place to relax with the book over a cup of tea or a snack, but it should be much more of a comfortable cafe given it is in a bookstore, more comfortable seating, less stainless steel - just does not give you the inviting feeling a bookstore cafe should.
