Need to improve. 2012-02-08
My first visit here for lunch last year did not leave me impressed. Aside from the soothing and chic decor and the see-and-me-seen vibe to the place the food seemed amateurish and nothing to shout about. Despite the good desserts overall it felt like an expensive exercise without good value. I never thought to return again. -

Yay for the pastries, nay for the food. 2011-07-21
Fresco's was introduced to me by a friend of mine when he brought a 12-layered chocolate cake one lazy weekend. Ever since then, this haven for pastry lovers had been on my radar.
Another lazy weekend, and a leisurely stroll found me standing on the doorstep of Fresco's. It's a small cafe situated inconspicuously in a small off shoot of the Cunningham road. Before tucking into desserts, I decided to try out the main courses. Turns out, the menu at Fresco's is predominantly continental and Goan. While it is not a 'Bangalore Institution' it is a reinvention of an older institution in its newer form. Survival: and its done a pretty good job @ it.
Hatworks Boulevard : is not just a fancy name someone conjured up.
From what I understand, this place was actually a Hat making factory that went out of commision as the trend changed. One of those old Bangalore Houses with its beautiful Mangalore Tiles, Teak Beams and distinct port hole on top. Great atmosphere, but average food 2010-11-07
Located at the beginning of Cunningham Road (from the Indian Express building side), the restaurant has a really great ambiance. An old bungalow has been renovated to provide space for this restaurant. The restaurant is actually placed in an open court yard with some shops inside the bungalow. There is always a nice breeze blowing and you sometimes wonder a place like this still exist on the busy cunningham street.
