  • Coffee Cult. 2008-01-07

A fashionable & fun hangout for the Yo! Youth. The Coffee Café Day (CCD) at Banashankari 3rd stage is a cool coffee joint with eats & drinks to tantalize your senses. A division of India’s largest coffee conglomerate Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company Limited, CCD has redefined the coffee culture in India since its inception in 1996 at Brigade Road, Bangalore. This coffee café is a perfect place to Coffee with friends & family.

The ambience is cool and the coffees are priced comfortably. The interior is trendy & hip with cozy couch, & stylish chairs and the outdoor environ is equally contemporary with stainless seats. They also have Café Beat a monthly tabloid that covers youth interest like movies, music, travel, fashion & lifestyle, e-dating & books. Available free of cost, it’s displayed on magazine stands near the counter. Merchandise like caps, t-shirts, bags, mugs, coffee filter & mint too are available but for a cost. You can also buy CCD gift certificate for Rs 101/- that entitles s(he) to a great treat at any CCD outlets. This café is always lively with the young and young at hearts.

The CCD beverages are undoubtedly best but the drinks here are better than the other CCD outlets sprung up in the city. The menu offering goes from a standard Hot & Cold coffee to interesting quick bites. Prepared in true Italian style, Cappuccino is the hottest selling item. However, for a change I chose a cup of Chococinno. It was irrestible! A sinful combo of chocolate ice & hot coffee, Chococinno won my heart.
Something that caught my attention in the menu was Vegan Shake- no animal fat. It is a chilled coffee shake with soy milk. The shake is one of a kind and a must try. When visiting CCD you can also try out the international coffee Ethiopian Qahwah & Kenyan Safari. The former is delightfully flavored & aromatic with dark chocolate overtones whilst the latter is the coffee with striking flavor of blueberry.
The quick bite includes a host of items like samosa, puff, pizza, croissant burger sandwich, cutlets, fries, rolls, cake, mousse & etc. My pick was Butter Scotch Gateau (100% veg), was mouth melting & simply yummy.

Service is too slow & if you ask why? You get to hear…. Hum to asay hai bhaiya! Yeh toh appni fashion hai bhaiya! I guess so. Anyways they have Café Beat to give you company. And folks CCD is not just about coffee, it is about coffee & conversation. So step in, order & start the ball rolling. Stomach full, it was time to step out and the conversation around me disappeared into air as I walked by.
