Not worth it anymore 2008-05-31
Visited Cafe Chinois after 2 months, thinking it would be better, but its become worse.....
-the prices have gone up
-most of the nice dishes are off the menu
-service has improved but still slow and lethargic
-portions are very small for the price they charge !
Disappointing !
I dont give this place too long to keep its shutters open at this stage...
Beijing bites opposite, or Chung Wah on Coles Road is much much better value.... -

I read the advertisement of Cafe Chinois in the Frazertown times which comes to me free along with my daily newspaper and what caught my attention was the Easter Lunch - 4 course for Rs.220 per person. Finding the amount reasonable, my wife and I decided to explore the place...
We were there at 1.25 pm sharp ( we booked a table for 1.30pm), was shown to our table. We had to wait till 1.50 for someone to come to our table, that too after 2 reminders to take our order. It's different !Asian Cuisine Cafe 2008-02-04
It is called a cafe, but does not serve the usual 'cafe-esque' items, i.e. teas, coffees, pastries, croissants. The idea behind this pan Asian restaurant is to give its customers a simple, casual ambience with good Asian and Italian(pastas) food.
Ambience : No 'red' lanterns, dragons and typical 'Chinese' red-light area feel(excuse me!). Warm, yet bright lights so the food can be seen and enjoyed.There's level 1 which has an 'open kitchen', allowing customers to watch their food being cooked;soak in the flavours and have conversation with the chef.
