I’ve passed many times through this road and always wondered what’s inside! This place has always attracted my attention and looking at the paintings on the outer wall and other artistic work, always made me feel, I should take a sneak peek.
So, there I was during one of the Indian festivals. The shop is well decorated with loads of artistic creations. One would find paintings, wood work, metal work, jute based stuffs, cotton and silk clothes, footwear and some excellent idols made of mud. As I was checking these things, the shop keeper started talking to me and explained the things. Told me Ms.Deepika is the one who’s been proactively doing all this and was the source for coming up with Bimba.
This is a house converted into a shop. So, when I was entering one of the rooms to check what’s in there, I saw a beautifully made arrangement of the story which narrates “How Ganga was flown down to the Earth”
As the inquisitive me asked him more Questions, I was told it’s a family tradition, and during the festivals, they make such arrangements, and every evening at 6PM, whoever walks in, if interested may hear the narration by Ms.Deepika. Am sure just like me, others also get to visualize the story when it gets narrated.
About the clothes, I’d say, it’s slightly expensive. But, they have amazing stuffs. I just love the designs and the patterns there. They take extra care to make each piece a classic. The idols made of mud are also unique. The bangles and ear rings were not too different from what’s available in other places but, is definitely expensive compared to other places in Bangalore.
Me and my friends have bought clothes and accessories from here and have found the quality really good! And ofcourse the narration experience is unbelievable too.
Surely a tryable place!!
