  • Poor Show!! 2012-05-19

After reading reviews of this place online, we were quite keen to visit and try out the food.
The ambience of the place was quite nice and the watchman helping us park the car was very sweet. However, to our horror, things started detiriorating from there on.
We were made to stand for 5 mins as nobody was free to clean our table. We saw a rat running around in the outdoor area and once moved inside it was toooo noisy to enjoy our meal.
Besides there was nothing much to enjoy, crispy vegetables were soggy and chicken was very chewy and tasteless.
Other items were just about average,

  • Didnt meet the expectations 2012-04-08

Suggestions: Make prior reservation and do not expect much after seeing the rating.

For starters, we were 6 ppl and wanted to seat in open area. We were told by the manager that the table(for 8) is reserved (and neither was he willing to join tables to make space for 6 ppl), we sat inside and kept a follow up. Till 10 pm no body turned up for the table in open area.. it was a no-win situation !!-really disappointing...

Food was also average. Service was good and Prices quite High.. not a " Value for money" option !!

  • Thai food lovers, probably look elsewhere.. 2012-03-21

My wife and I had heard that this joint was one of the few places serving Thai food in BLR and the closest to our house. So we dropped in one Sunday night. I liked the ambiance most of all, being located at the roof-top and spacious enough with the tables laid out at a comfortable distance from each other. Another plus point is the closed area on the roof-top with AC ideal for afternoons I guess. Appropriately lit, it was overall a relaxing atmosphere.

We are big fans of Som Tam (Pappaya Salad) and ordered it along with Tom Kha soup. We found the Som Tam to be very pungent and spiced too

  • Good food ... 2012-02-15

Was recommended by a friend and decided to give it a try. Made a reservation a day earlier (ensure you do so to avoid waiting time). Rooftop ambiance is always a welcome and this one lives up to it. Has a good spread of appetizers (Golden Basket is worth it). Mocktails are average - Tried a couple but nothing which will make me go for it again.

However the service was left wanting - Had to wait for over 30 mins for the starters and main course to be served. And this was even after reminding the staff 5 times ! That left the entire experience a sour one ... Hopefully they improve on this.<

  • Aroy annoys,hides and occasionally pleases 2012-02-09

Encouraged by the B'lore edition of Times Food Guide; an excellently written review by Suman Bolar in "Food Travel Bangalore", and a favourable article by Karthik Shetty in "Gastronomical G-spot", I along with a close gang of family members ,decided to have lunch at this restaurant which claimed ,and was reputed to serve fine South-Asian food. The location was 3rd phase JP Nagar, in a commercial cluster off the road that soon leads to Banerghatta Road. JP Nagar is not a bright spot for world-cuisine ,but restaurants serving Indian-style food are not scarce here.Over the years (but not recently),... read more

  • Great ambience n good service but bad food 2012-02-04

We were searching for a good thai place in blre...went here after reading so many great reviews ...stepped in, live music great ambience was the first impression. Then came our orders..Tom Yum soup.. was so ordinary and very salty. My husband said we will get it replaced but on second thoughts we just left it after having a little bit of it. We ordered drunken chicken...chicken was rubbery and not at all good...and then the greatest disappointent...thai green curry.. this was just horrible.. it was just green in color and the chicken tasted like they just added soe boiled chicken to it aftre they... read more

  • Bad experience on our special occasion! 2012-02-02

Had been to aroy before & had a good experience with the ala carte. Recently on my hubby's birthday, thought of trying this place again. I had preinformed them of my hubby's bday & whether they could play a happy bday song for which they agreed.

We settled for the set menu which was Rs 425 + taxes. Thats where we put them off I think. The captain agreed on the drink with the set menu only we asked about it. The Set Lunch Menu offers a combination of Soup(watery clear soup), 2 Starters(2 pieces of veg spring roll and around 5 small boneless pieces of chicken RCP)papaya Salad (in a tiny

  • Great place and good food! 2012-01-20

I had been to Aroy's on a weekday and the place wasn't too packed. The ambiance is very nice and open in an other wise claustrophobic city!
We opted for a soup and a cocktail (As night falls). Both were very good and proportion of the soup was more than adequate for 2. The starters the followed and we opted for Golden basket with chicken. This is one of the best starters I've had in a while and thoroughly enjoyed it!
We were already full by now and for the final meal opted for Khow Tsuey which is a meal by itself. This dish is available in seafood, vegetarian and chicken options. We opted
