Had been to aroy before & had a good experience with the ala carte. Recently on my hubby's birthday, thought of trying this place again. I had preinformed them of my hubby's bday & whether they could play a happy bday song for which they agreed.
We settled for the set menu which was Rs 425 + taxes. Thats where we put them off I think. The captain agreed on the drink with the set menu only we asked about it. The Set Lunch Menu offers a combination of Soup(watery clear soup), 2 Starters(2 pieces of veg spring roll and around 5 small boneless pieces of chicken RCP)papaya Salad (in a tiny katori), Veg Stir Fry, Thai Red Curry and Steamed Rice along with one Scoop of Ice Cream in the name of dessert.
The no of items on the menu were limited, quantities were miniscule & the food was definitely off the mark. On top of it, the service was full of attitude. If u guys dont want people to have the set menu, just the ala-carte, then why the hell do u have it in the first place ??? My 3 year old wasnt even offered or served anything coz we opted for 2 set menus, unlesss we told them to.
The bday song was forgotten,though there were just two tables around. If a restaurant with such limited clientiele (3 tables on that aft) cannot manange a special request from someone, it just shows their callousness towards the customers.
Finally, at that kind of price (or even lesser) there are excellent unlimited buffets available in the city with good service e.g Mainland China, Barbeque nation, Little Italy, Koramangala, Cafe masala etc...(Way better in quality & quantity of the starters than the 5 tiny pieces of chicken RCP & 2 spring rolls) Also they dont hesitate in serving small kids even though they know they arent going to get charged. My mom's last bday celebrated at Little Italy, Koramangala really made her feel so special with the treatment we got there. I just wish we had chosen one of these reputed places to celebrate this special occasion too.....
