  • Perfect Buffet Destination 2007-08-21

Angeethi is the near perfect Buffet Destination. For a Perfect buffet outing one needs to wear a Gourmand's hat, and Angeethi not only gives you that hat but gives that to you in quite a desi style.

The decor reminds you of a Dhaba but its nothing new, every other punjabi food destination tries to emulate a dhaba, but one thing I like are the movie posters, reminded me of the dialogues while eating. The place is cramped and is mostly overcrowded at lunch time, so its good if a prior booking for a table is done. Or another workaround can be coming around 12'o'clock.

Now the food, Buffet Lunch offers everything you can think of, Non-Veg items include-Fish,Chicken and Mutton in some form or the other. Fried Fish was quite tasty, with the Chicken gravy good too. By the way I don't eat mutton but my friends said that the Mutton-Biriyani they served that day was quite good.

Rest you will be served, couple of Paneer items, another Veg item here and there, good veg starters in some Chana Tikkis, Papdi Chaat and Dahi Vadas. Overall quite filling if you look at it in totality. The desert is usually GulaabJaamun with icecream, of which the GulaabJaamun was really hot and soft.

From what I have heard the menu remains more or less the same, but if you want a day out which involves fun while eating and you just want to eat your brains (or rather stomach) out
    visit Angeethi.

Prices are around Rs. 150-160 plus taxes for a buffet lunch. About regular course I have no idea.

P.S- Do take a fresh lime soda after the meal, it would be quite necessary :)

P.P.S- Don't buy a paan ( a necessity after such a meal) here its too over priced, just go down and you would get a cheap and good enough Paan shop.
