Excellent Food and Desserts! 2012-03-15
We had been to this place for a team lunch from office. It was the first time for me at a bengali restaurant :) The menu was quite alien to me, I managed to figure out my favorite picks and ordered along with the others. Service took a little more time than expected, but it was good overall. Food was simply outa the world. The tomato jam (assuming its tomato) served along with the starters was a treat! The desserts are a must try out there; Indrani and Raj bhog were phenomenal :) ! -

After a very long time ( close to 6-7 years after first visit which was disappointing) we visited this restaurant yesterday. To our utter surprise the place has improved a lot. We are not from east but still we tried out rice, fish and all and everything came out really good. Portions were well enough to feed the 3 of us and so was the quality. Fish is something that you need to be careful and we usually avoid,since we had had bad experiences in many a place. But not here. THe fish was pretty fresh and well prepared. This place is for herbivores too ;) 2011-07-22
Typically, herbivores (a.k.a us) and Bengali food are considered antipodes. However, our love for regional cuisine got the better of us and we went to 6 Ballygunge Place for dinner tonight.
Food: I have to admit that there is enough variety for vegetarians to visit the place at least twice. We started off with the assorted Bhaaja. There was one with a filling, one with shredded potatoes and one with aubergine. The first 'bhaaja' was too salty for me but overall, it was pretty good. GOOD FOOD AT HIGH PRICES 2011-07-21
Well one of the few places in Bangalore where you can have good and tasty Bengali food. Try the fishes its too good. The prices are little high but the food is its worth. Currently Food Festival is going on till 31st July. Nice and good place. The staff is good and nice. Ambiance is so so. -

I have visited this place only once about 4 years back. Did not like the food. There were hardly any options. Fish was not that good either and a bit pricey. Did not had the thought of visiting again after that experience. -

Cockroaches in the menu 2011-07-12
It was a stark contrast to what was once the most sought after Bengali Cuisine restaurant for my family when we visited on 9th July 2011. There were no one to welcome us at the entrance, the chairs cushions are dirty with black patches of dirt all around, sofa covers are all untidy, no one willing to take order even after repeated request, to top it up there are cockroaches in the menu card and on the wall. We had to rush out of this unhygienic place and search for another decent Bengali restaurant. -

Worst bengali food(aloo jhinga posta) 2011-01-29
Their aloo jhinga posta and narkel posta are the worst.The quality of the posta(khuskhus or poppy seeds) that these people use is of the lowest quality. It tasted like yuck. Its too costly.Have one suggestion for guys who want to go there for vegetarian stuff, AVOID IT. The service is too horribly slow. Got my 7 up when i was almost done with my food :( -

Nothing much to write, everything was average - starting from the ambience, to the service, and the food...everything was just OK. Not a "must visit", but if the craving is for Bengali cuisine, then Oh! Calcutta is a much better bet any day! -

This is the 'only' place where I used to go when I moved to Bangalore to get really good and authentic bengali food. And after 6 years, I still visit regularly with so many other options available now a days. However, the standard of the food has dropped a bit and the classic 6BP mocktails are no longer available :(.....the version you get now is not even close to being a refreshing beverage. Still the place is really good and the weekday lunch buffet gives you the chance to get a holistic feel ( :) ) on nice bengali lunch..... -
