Was taken by a friend to this place while visiting Kolkata in March. Good location, being closer to Southern Avenue, and not a very crowded place. The decor is a bit mixed up and looks very traditional. They could do with a more modern setting which is not so colonial looking.
The service was very attentive and actually very good. Very helpful with the menu and contents. What I liked about this place was the fish - we had some variations of fish, mainly grilled. And clearly, it was delicious.
The prices are reasonable, and I would say a good place for casual dining.
The ones who have researched on Kolkata food and restaurants have identified Marco Polo as a traditional yet expensive affair. The food without a doubt is exceptional, but in an age of cost effectiveness, you just can't go bizarre with your bucks.Murgh makhanwala and Murgh hara dhania are their signature items while Pork ribs feature as their best bait. However, the exorbitantly high cost results in a lowly fetched gathering except on holidays!
Ambiance is fabulous and you would feel on top of the world till the point of paying the bills! All in all my entry is extremely occasional!
