Best Buffet with Excellent Service..!

Ivory is one of my favourite restaurants in the city and heir buffet spread is excellent. It has widespread dishes and the taste is too good. For around Rs 700 per person, its worth it.

Lip smacking gourmet

Ivory is certainly among the upscale and sophisticated restaurant in and around the Park Street area. The food they serve are cooked to perfection and you are surely going to relish each and every bite you eat. The buffet spread is to die for with live kebab counter and more than 10 dishes to try from plus the amazing mix-match of desserts from ice-cream with brownie to fruit punch, pastry and sandesh. Given the quality of food, service and ambience, the pricing is just apt.

So Inconsistent!

To be fair, the first time i visited this restaurant was for an afternoon buffet lunch. That experience was nothing short of just fantastic! Great food and great service. However, I went there for my anniversary dinner and it was just horrible! We ordered kebabs and found them to not be completely cooked. We asked them to fix that and the same thing happened the second and a third time too! That's when we just decided to leave. A friend of mine had it even worse where he had booked the place for a business thing and everybody fell ill that night. Never trusting any food from that kitchen again, which really is a shame!!!

buffet variety directly proportionate to taste!!!

Ambiance: 4/5
Food: 5/5
Service: 3/5

I visit Kolkata once in a year am am based in Mumbai.

Till about 2 years back I remember visiting Grain of Salt at least once during my week long visits here. I was in for a surprise when i saw that G.O.S has given way to 'Ivory'.

The ambience is impressive mainly to due the open plan. The vastness does leave its mark. Each table has small cup of salt, perhaps in reminiscence of it GOS days. The linen are all in the shades of white.

The staff is courteous and well aware of the menu. However, during peak hours, they tend to get fazed a bit.

The a la carte menu is quite extensive. Good choices for both vegetarians as well as the non vegetarians.
I however am a sucker for buffets and indulged in the same. The restaurant has a daily lunch buffet (I am not aware about their dinner setup however).

The buffet spread was very interesting. They stocked from soups (veg & non veg), chaats (pani-puri, dahi-vada etc) and a extensive salad counter (veg and non-veg) with loads of diff dressings to a good main course consisting of 4 veg curries, 2 continental dishes, 4 non veg curries, 2 chinese dishes and 2 live counters which made veg tikkis and veg pan-fried chinese noodles (with an option for rice available too) along with your choice of toppings, ingredients and sauces.

The dessert counter after such a top-notch main course was the icing on the cake (quite literally!) It had 2 varieties of Indian deserts, 2 types of pastries, ice cream along with toppings and sauces and of course fresh fruit plates (which I ALWAYS avoid) :p

All in all, the food was great (taste-wise as well as variety-wise); and that is exactly what separates Ivory from other buffet places...the extensive variety does mean that the quality or the taste have been given 2nd priority!

The curries were all fresh and tasty with the perfect amount of spices. The Indian breads were perfectly cooked (crispy on the outside and soft from the inside)...and the desserts were great!

A good place to visit if you are looking out for a leisurely lunch.

P.S.: Currently they are giving out one complimentary drink including with the buffet-. Select from either a fresh lime or a jaljeera or a kingfisher beer!

cheers to that!! :D

Eat at will

Camac street houses this little place. Arguably one of the best buffet options in Kolkata, ivory kitchen is a delight for foodies who can gorge on for hours! It's really good for them, because the vast options of Indian and Chinese goodies require a lot space in the stomach and a lot of time as well. Priced at nearly 700 bucks per head, it's a little pricey. But when you remember about the liberty that you get here, sitting in the spacious seats , you'd like to discount the price. So , go ahead and gorge, there's no one stopping you. The ambience is nice , and the food are all yours to enjoy !

Quality Buffet and mocktails!

Looking for quality buffet at the least cost? Switch off the music fellas because the car is waiting outside the park! It's the ideal combination of food and grace when a foodie settles in his treasured paradise. A Restaurant with Bar, Banqueting and allied services with a humongous siting arrangement in place. With Italian, Chinese, North Indian cuisines to savor, Ivory Kitchen brings in the best of "Kobjo dubiye khawa" or eat like anything experience. I have been rather impressed by the mocktails section, the Blood Orange Colada that was indeed a treat on a hot summer evening. And when the main course is served, you feel like a Royal Roller coaster ride! Ah the remuneration is completely sane and justified!
