being in the other side of the city for a long time, this was the first time i decided to try out the marriott . I had made a reservation , dinner buffet for 2 at okra. at the time of reservation i had casually mentioned that it is my fiancees birthday and would like a small candle lit celebration before the buffet if possible.
Now here is the case, i have been to many lunch buffets and most of them, i may say quite frankly gives u an attitude like "u are at our mercy ", but we were just overwhelmed by the demeanor of the marriott folks,
As we had entered the hotel i had walked by their patisserie and asked my fiancee if we should pick up a pastry , a triple layered choc wafer one for our little celebration before dinner. however we chucked the idea and headed straight to our table, but to our surprise we were presented with the same pastry at our table with a happy birthday message for her and a candle. and later i learnt that all this was not charged at all.we got a seat facing the pool, excellent, warm service (it was supposed to be a self serviced buffet) and we felt special, Thanks Marriott for an excellent evening and setting an example to other folks in hospitality business.
