Bawarchi was the name associated with Hyderabad for quality Biryani. I had several good experiences with it, having Biryani completions with my friends, and most of the time I won. I used to have two plates of chicken Biryani in those days. I used to have a massive appetite for biryanis and kababs.
Recently I had been to the restaurant and I had mixed experience. There is no parking place available for the restaurant as usual I went to big bazaar for parking and entered the restaurant. We had to wait for our table it was kind of jam packed with hungry folks. The floor was clumsy and the table was bad, we had to call for the boy to clean and the kind of look the cleaning boy gave us was very unacceptable. We had to search for the waiter to give the order.
We ordered Chicken Tikka, Chicken Haryali Kabab and Mutton Sheek Kabab, they were simply superb, and melted in the mouth that shows the meat was thoroughly marinated and roasted to perfection. Then we ordered chicken and mutton biryani and it came to our table in a jiffy. To my surprise the Chicken Biryani was very oily and tasteless though the quantity was good, I was totally disappointed. Even the chicken leg pieces smelt foul. The mutton Biryani was good but the mutton pieced was less may be because of the high price of mutton. Frankly speaking the Biryani let me down and I would not return to this place atleast for the Biryani.
The ambiance is worst; the tables are not hygienic. We had to clean with the tissue paper the plates and spoons before having food. Talking about glasses I would have puked drinking water in them, so we ordered cool drinks. Pricing is very reasonable and would suite to everyone. There are very few places where you would see both chicken and mutton Biryani pricing same, one among them is Bawarchi.
Parking is a hell, so wish you good luck.
Overall I am not satisfied with the food, service and ambiance. Except for the tikkas and kababs you can give a miss to this place. How long can you live on your past glory? I sincerely urge the management to relook where they are going wrong and set right the things for their better business prospect.
Ambiance 0.5/5 (can't give less than that)
Food Quantity 4.5/5
Food Quality 2.5/5 ('coz of biryani)
