Woohoo!! For all you rock music-lovers out there. Unwind Centers around India always come with their in-house Cafe.
The best thing about this place is that they play music from WorldSpace Radio (no less!). The place is mostly populated with the musicians who make it there either for lessons or for the concerts. The concert hall is a very big room with a makeshift stage in the front. There is a concert happening on every Fridays and the entry is free. You are even allowed to take your food inside.
They have only one guy who cooks and serves. Smart idea, since they have roughly 5 tables. The man who manages the cafe is who I call 'Uncle', a smart, friendly, elderly man probably in his sixties who would sit with you and talk if you don't mind. He was the one who introduced me to the Creamy Double and I blame him solely for the fact that I don't even want to try anything else there. The Creamy Double is a very heavy sandwich with egg, chicken, capsicum and tomatoes, mayonaise spread lavishy, a little thin though. A cup of coffee is Rs. 10/-. They serve pizzas and burgers and fries. They could arrange for parties and if your bill amounts upto Rs. 1000/- (or something) they can arrange for a cake too. They have parlour palm plants and wooden tables and chair.
And if you are alone with a book, you won't find a more perfect place in town!
