Hole in your purse so a mosquito can come in.

I had visited this cafe some 6 months ago and did not feel like posting a review. Today while browsing through, I got the urge to write. So here goes:

* The setting is quite nice and laid back.
* A Bud beer (330ML) costs 120Rs (or more?) while the MRP is 33Rs. Come on! A 100 bucks extra?
* Food is average on the verge of good.
* When I ordered the bud beer, the waiter said "Sir, it costs 120Rs".
* There are lots, I mean LOTS, REALLY LOTS of mosquitoes, and its a semi open air place with lots of trees around.

Moral of the Cafe: We will burn a hole in your purse so as to allow our many mosquitoes to explore.

Avoid.

goooood!

The outdoor setting is nice and relaxing.
The menu is elaborate.
Food tastes good.
Takes a while to serve. Be ready to wait.
Take a walk around the place, it has some stores attached. The walk gives you something to do while waiting for the food.
The service is good. Courteous waiters.
YOU HAVE TO DO DESSERTS HERE!!!!

A meal consisting of 2 beers, lime soda, one starter, 2 main course dishes and a dessert costed us just 975/- which we thought was good value for money, for a meal for 2. The main course dishes range between 180-250/-.

Highly recommended.

Enjoy a long lazy brunch at Frescos. Its gooooood!!!!

Stop over for Desert!

This is the kind of place one would love to go over and over again, be it for lunch or coffee or for dinner.

Fresco’s is more famous for the mouth-watering deserts. Not only are they a treat for the eyes, but are equally delicious. The B52 i.e., a layer of white chocolate, dark chocolate and coffee cream will surely melt in your mouth, so will the sticky date cake. That’s not all; you might want to try the 12-layered cake, the chocolate and strawberry mousse cake, the blueberry pie or the lemon tart. With choices as wide as these, the problem is, WHAT DO I ORDER!!! They all look so good and they taste equally good.

Fresco’s also serves some nice food, besides the deserts. The pastas are good. The spaghetti with pesto sauce or the pasta carbonarra, which is stuffed with some chicken and served with cream sauce are a big hit. My favourite is the lemony prawn kebabs. The prawns are marinated and are then grilled and served on skewers with zucchini. The herb rice is an accompaniment. the dish is then topped off with a very creamy sauce. Sea food lovers can also try the baked crabs or the fish toronatto. The fish fillet is stuffed with shrimps and is served with rice with a sour cream kind of a sauce. The menu also has a few sizzlers.

The place serves some Indian food. I have tried the nargisi kofta, which I liked. Scotch eggs doused with some red gravy and with minty green gravy. It is served either with rice or paav.

This place is great for coffee and sandwiches and of course, not to forget the deserts. Great evenings can be spent here over a cuppa.

Gourmet Pasteries

Went to Cafe Fresco's because i'd read and heard about the
delightful pastries they make and I wasn't dissappointed.
After feasting our eyes on the luxurious gateaux on display
for several minutes, we chose the Bavarian Pie which was
a sea of mixed nuts and caramel. It was served with special rose
icecream which had the character of rose water in terms of
flavor and color. The pastry also came with a generous helping
of whipped cream and a limey sauce which I haven't been able to place.

I enjoyed the ambience at Cafe Fresco's - the outdoorsy, casual
feel and the languid pace of the waiters reminded me of Goa! We went
around 3:00 pm and it seemed like a great place for that time of the day.
Must visit if you have a sweet tooth.
