One of the best vegetarian food by far

Don't go here expecting exotic Mughlai fare that the likes of Samarkand serve, but for real light, nourishing and tasty vegetarian food, very few places beat Ramana's. The hot phulkas here are really soft, light and fluffy (as mentioned before, it just melts in your mouth.) While the food includes the traditional fares, a few do manage some spunk. We tried the baghara baingan, tava vegetables and kairee paneer. We loved all of it. Specially recommend the kairee paneer which is a nice blend of sour with mild spice. And on the spice front, we tried the gobi manchurian here and were pleasantly surprised to find it mild enough for my daughter to enjoy (but damn tasty as well), so the food is definitely kid friendly. The mild spices and low amount of oil food is definitely a plus in my books though some people may find it too homely for their day out experience. But hey if you enjoy good vegetarian food and want a place that you can keep going back to, this is definitely one...

Average food and bad service!

Pretty ordinary fare that is quite over-priced. The waiter who served us was clumsy and spilled curries on to the table. Perhaps he could do with some training. The manager wasn't very helpful either - he had an attitude!

vegetarian excellence

What I call a pleasurable dining experience . One place in bangalore who know what vegitarian cooking is all about .I ordered the hara bhara kabab and it was made to perfection , grilled perfectly with just the right amount of spices and not burnt ! The mint chutney alongside forms the perfect combination to the begining of a scrumptous meal . Jal Jeera beside your food forms an excellent drink to wash down your food . Coming to the main course , they serve regular north indian with an interesting selection of curries . I ordered shaam savere ,a curry which had an excellent drouse of panner in spinach . Dining here was an absolute experience .

Vegetarian Excellence

I believe I have some right to give an authoritative opinion on Ramana's as I eat there all the time.

Food at Ramana's is always fresh and though not extraordinary, always satisfying. Service is fantastic but that may have something to do with my being "the everyday customer". Most offerings on the menu are well-made. There could be a dish or two like corn palak that's too flat for most palates but that's a (or the) rare exception. At Ramana's the Phulkas are soft and melt-in-your-mouth types so I recommend them instead of Rotis which are good too but you can get good rotis at other places as well. Among subzis, all preparations are good and I love the dryer Bhindi the most.

Ambience here is calm and sort of goes with their philosophy of which vegetarianism is a part.

The prices here are a little higher than what one would like to pay for an everyday meal but given the location, I believe they're an almost-fair-priced place. If you're a group the cost would be about 160-220 per head
