royal rendezvous; commoner's rate

It would take something to emulate a Nawab Saheb (Renaissance Hotel, Powai); ....in Thane of all the places....

but u price it well, do the decors, provide prompt friendly service, serve excellent food, and voila we have a generic!

Ventured into it on a weekday; the promptness of the staff was expected and well catered...they dish out a sit-down buffet comprising a welcome drink, papad, salad, 3 starters, 2 main courses, roti, rice, dal, 3 deserts at an amazing RS 250/- only (inc. taxes!!) (veg or non veg.)

The chef promptly dishes out hot portions of kebabs for starters. We dug into the the succulent chicken kebab, the soft and juicy rawas fish tandoor kebabs, mutton kheema patties. The vegetarians can stuff in their tandoori aalo, paneer tikka's and some patty. The main fare comprised rotis and a mutton and chicken delicacy. The vegetarian fare included a dum-aalo kashmiri, which was by-far the best I have eaten and tasted; truly -'kashmiri'. All the gravies were delicately flavoured and the chicken and kheema cooked to perfection.

We were just halfway there yet!! The waiter served us dum-biryani's; which were yet again up and above the defining mark for good food. Well-flavoured, piping hot, long-grained basmati rice in aromatic flavours of chicken covered the remnant bits of space in our tummy. Surprisingly tasty deserts followed:
1) mango kulfi,
2) dry-fruit kulfi,
3) malai kulfi,
4) pinping hot gulab jamun,
5) phirni
- all made in-house and infused with the perfect flavours left me gasping for more.

Finally, a long and stomach-torturing (considering the amount of food that we chose to ingest!) came to an end leaving us breathless!
