The Masaala Experience!

A weekend evening, a lazy mood to cook, yet a craving to have some good food, the precise solution - a restaurant close to home.
That’s when we decided to have dinner at Masalaa.
This is a place in one of the crowded lanes of Padmanabhanagar. It’s a brightly decorated place and easily noticeable.
Masalaa has a garden restaurant Eden, A bar named Ecstasy and an A/c Hall Elite.
We decided to sit at Elite. A man with his grand attire and noticeable Moustache opened the door and welcomed us.
We entered a huge hall with high ceilings. The stair way will lead you to a small hall in the first floor. There is a huge aquarium and fountains under this stairway.
A exquisite wooden coconut tree adds to the décor of this hall. The hall is dim lit giving it a dull and not so romantic look. It has huge pillars adorned with cute painting on them.
We took a table close to the entrance. It was empty when we entered but soon we had people waiting for tables. Invariably you’ll find family crowd here.
You have the restaurant providing baby prams as well, a thoughtful gesture.
The waiter handed a menu which was of leather and jute. We quickly placed the order and quicker came the food. The service, I must say was real fast!
We had Chilli chicken and Sholay kabab for starters. The Chilli chiken had the original ‘Andra’ aroma and taste. The chicken was so well cooked that it melted down.
The sholay kabab tasted ok. We ordered the main course inclusive of kulcha, Garlic naan, Panner Makhani and a Chicken Biryani.
The breads were delicious and the curry was just perfect! The biryani generously in quantity, but tasted just OK.

The service is fast and responsive. When I asked a waiter when they opened, he said it was 8 years and soon came back and said he was wrong with a smile and told me the exact day and year they started.
It has been 4 years since they started. They could have definitely maintained the place better. The place definitely needs basic fixes, if not a major revamping.
Something that induces my above say is when I noticed the paint that was coming off the walls, the sunken and faded cushions on the sofa, the ceiling with water marks and discoloration of paint.
The prices are reasonable, a place where both veggies and Non vegetarians can relish tasty food at fair prices.
The exit to the hall on your left would have the entrance to the Eden – Garden restaurant. The tables are arranged on lawn and are well protected from the dust and road with heavy layers of jute drapes. To the right you’d find the bar. One will have no trouble parking as there is a spacious plot available.

At the gate you’d find a Paan Shop. If you are looking at topping your dining experience with a perfect closure then, never miss a Maghai Jodi here!
It’s made using the most tender beetle leaves leaving you asking for more!
A place one can have a fulfilling meal!
