I visited this place on the recommendation of a friend. I went with my wife and two children.
The experience was wonderful as far as the ambience was concerned. The waiters were polite and seemed to be knowledgeable. However, that's where the resemblance to a good restaurant ended.
The salad we ordered seemed to have a tad too many leaves and less vegetables - it was not balanced right.
I ordered some cuts of beef and asked for them rare. What I got was unevenly cooked and VERY chewy. Some bits were medium to well done, some were rare. But more than 70% of the beef was inedible - in the sense that however much I chewed, it did not disintegrate! When I pointed this out to the waiter / owner, they had the effrontery to tell me that "rare beef is like this only" and "I personally select all the cuts of meat" !!
That's ridiculous. I always eat my steaks rare and at the most there are one or two small bits that aren't chewable. But good beef, dear Via Milano, CAN be eaten rare with a minimum of effort in both cutting and chewing. If it's good beef. This obviously wasn't - and what made it more galling was that the staff had the cheek to defend it, argue and still leave it on the bill. Terrible customer service, if you ask me.
I'm certainly not going there ever again.
