grazie mille, via milano!

All I can say is that I never felt so lucky to live so close to a restaurant! I am Italian, and so I am naturally difficult to please when it comes to Italian cuisine.

Via Milano is amazing!!!!!

First of all the decor and the service is impeccable. I went with my parents, my husband and our infant daughter. The staff did their best to seat us away from tables that were smoking, and made sure to check on us frequently. When my dad's beer tasted off (it was oxidized) they replaced it immediately, no questions asked.

Starters... I had the salad with shrimp and avocado.. it was amazingly good, fresh and the presentation was great. My husband had the mixed green salad with goat cheese, and it too was perfect... the greens were fresh and crisp and the goat cheese was flavorful.

Main courses... I had the ravioli, which are usually not my favorite but I wanted something light. These were lovely pillows of delicately flavored spinach and ricotta accompanied by a light tomato sauce. they were satisfying and tasted good. My husband really enjoyed his pasta with grilled vegetables, and my father had chicken saltimbocca, which he devoured happily.

The menu also boasts a number of meats, risotto, and pizzas... something for everyone's palate.

For dessert we had the semifreddo, and it was spectacular... nutty and served with a delicious chocolate sauce, the likes of which I have never had in India.

After dinner we talked a bit with the chef.. he is indeed from Italy... Friuli, to be exact... and we really enjoyed talking to him. He's a nice guy with a real passion for what he does.

Prices were reasonable... the salads/pastas were in the rs. 220 range, meats were priced just a bit higher. They also have a full service bar. For your money, I would rate Via Milano a notch above Fiorano, as it is a bit less expensive and the food is more flavorful than I have experienced at Fiorano of late.
