Superb Muslim fare
Id's only a day away, so I hope this review will prove timely for those of you who salivate at the thought of awesome Muslim fare. I first tried out Rajasthan a few years ago on the enthusiastic recommendation of a friend, and its become a must-visit ever since. Its bang on SV Road, a stone's throw away from Irish Pub and Mahjong.
The food here is simply AWESOME! Try the beef sheekh kababs (Rs. 15 for two) which are melt-in-the-mouth delicious. Another one of our favourites is the Salli Boti. They have a special for each day of the week ranging from mutton khichda to dal gosht to aab gosht. They make a mean biryani too. The menu is varied with Chinese thrown in as well. Of course, you would be crazy to come in here and choose Chinese over what they do best - fantastic Indian food. I didn't notice the veg section...but thats probably coz there wasn't much of a choice anyway.
The place is almost always crowded (even more in the evenings during Ramzan) but the longest I've ever had to wait for a table is 10 mins. They have an AC section and a family section. The service is efficient and the staff is sensitive to guests with families and children. The prices are very, very reasonable. A meal for two in the AC section would cost you around Rs. 150 and lesser if you sit outside.
This place wins my vote for a no-frills, all-taste meal experience that will always live upto your expectation. Oh, did I mention that the desserts - caramel custard, falooda, hot jalebis, malpua with rabdi - are superb too? My suggestion - go there this Sunday and join in the Id celebrations!
